Troubleshooting

Common issues and the quickest fix for each. Most trace back to a setting or a network detail rather than a fault.

Decoder

A decoder type I want isn't in the "add decoder" list. : Only the decoder plugins chosen during installation are available. Re-run the installer and enable the one you need.

The decoder won't connect. : In the decoder's settings, use Search to scan the network, or enter its address manually if you know it. Check the decoder and timing PC are on the same network. See Decoders.

My lap splits are on the wrong sectors. : Splits are assigned in the order decoders were added, and the first decoder is the Finish Line. Don't change decoders mid-event; if you must, re-add them in the same order. See Decoders.

Web interface

The web page works on the timing PC but not on other devices. : This is almost always the Windows Firewall blocking the port. Allow the web server port through and try again.

The web server won't start. : Another application is probably holding the port. Change the Web Port (or Web Socket Port) in Web Interface Settings.

Live publishing icon changed colour. : That signals a communication fault with the broker. Check the timing PC's internet connection and your Live Publish connection details.

Timing and simulation

No laps are being counted in simulation. : The simulated target lap time is too close to the minimum lap time in General Settings, so laps are rejected as under-minimum. Increase the target time. See Simulation Mode.

A real lap was rejected. : A lap under the configured minimum lap time is treated as an error (and plays the error beep). Check the minimum lap time in General Settings suits the class.

Settings

I've forgotten the settings password. : There's no self-service reset — the password guards the screen you'd change it from. Contact support. See Security.

Recovering an event

The connection dropped mid-race / I need the passings back. : A decoder's Tools option can re-send all stored passings. Auto-save also keeps a per-race copy in Documents\Sensible Laps\autosave\ — see Loading and Saving events.
