Sensible Championship
Sensible Championship is a companion application that turns a whole season of
race results into championship standings. It reads the same .slres result files
Sensible Laps produces, adds up points across every meeting, and ranks your
drivers.
A separate app and a licensed feature
Sensible Championship installs alongside Sensible Laps but runs on its own. It's unlocked by the Sensible Championship feature on your licence — see Licensing.
Getting your results in
Sensible Championship works from a folder of .slres result files. There are two
ways to fill it:
- Get Results — download results for your date range straight from results.sensiblelaps.com, for any track you follow.
- Browse Results — opens the results folder so you can drop in files by hand (for example, results you exported locally rather than uploaded).
Use Select All / Clear Selection and Refresh to choose exactly which meetings feed the championship.
Same driver, spelled two ways?
If a driver's name was typed slightly differently on different nights, use Find / Replace to correct it across every file at once, so their results merge into a single championship row.
Setting up the championship
The Settings tab defines how the championship is scored:
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Start / End date | The date range that counts as this season. | This calendar year |
| Points table | Points awarded for each finishing position. | 1st = 100, 2nd = 99, … |
| Qualifying points | Optional bonus points for qualifying position. | TQ = 1 |
| Count best results | Only each driver's best N meetings count (drop rounds). | 10 |
| Minimum entries | A division must have at least this many entrants on the night to count. | 3 |
| Fast-lap minimum | Ignore implausibly quick laps below this many seconds when reporting fastest laps. | 20 |
| Division name maps | Merge divisions recorded under slightly different names across meetings. | — |
| Lap-count usage | Per race type — Practice, Controlled Practice, Qualifying, Finals — whether its laps are ignored, totalled, or counted. | Qualifying & Finals counted; practice ignored |
Reading the standings
The Championship Result tab is the ranked table: Position, Name, Results, Qualifying Points, Result Points, Total Points and a Tie Break column. Export it to Print, PDF or Excel with the buttons above the table.
The Event Detail tab breaks a single meeting down by division and highlights which results are actually being used in each driver's total (the best-N above).
The Extra tab holds the trimmings — fastest laps, fastest lap by race length, and per-driver lap counts for each race type.
Want to score it a different way?
Sensible Championship scores on points-for-place (plus the qualifying bonus),
keeping each driver's best N rounds. If your series is scored some other way —
most laps across the season, most wins, a custom formula — the
Claude Skill can build a championship from the same .slres
files however you like.
