Getting Started

Sensible Laps is lap-timing software for radio-controlled (RC) car racing. It connects to a transponder decoder at the track, records every car's laps in real time, and organises a race day into divisions, qualifying and finals — with live timing screens, printed results and online publishing built in.

New to Sensible Laps? Work through this section in order:

  1. System Requirements — check your timing PC and decoder are supported before you install.
  2. Installation — install the application and the decoder plugins you need.
  3. Getting help — where to turn when something doesn't behave as expected.

Once you're installed, the fastest way to run your first meeting is the Event Wizard, which builds a complete event — divisions, schedule and fees — from a short series of questions.

Just want to try it?

Turn on Simulation Mode in Settings to generate fake passings, so you can explore the whole workflow without a decoder or cars on the track.
