Races
A race is a single run of a group of cars — one qualifying heat or one final. Within a division, contestants run a series of qualifying races to set the grid, followed by finals that decide the result.
This section covers how qualifying is set up:
- Qualifying Type — how qualifying is scored: fastest single lap, best run over a number of laps, or points per round.
- Qualifying Format — how many rounds are run and how a driver's overall qualifying position is calculated from them (for example, dropping the worst round).
- Qualifying Start Stagger — releasing cars in a staggered start so a heat isn't decided by first-corner contact.
Where finals are configured
Finals structure (A/B/C mains, bump-ups and how the grid is filled from qualifying) follows from the division setup rather than this section — see Division Mode and Inner Divisions.
